Summary
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a UN set of 17 international development targets with 169 objectives, adopted in 2015 and intended to be met by all UN member countries by 2030. They expand and replace the earlier eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and cover economic, social and environmental aims—such as ending poverty, ensuring education and combating climate change—highlighting how multiple policy goals interact and how progress on one goal can affect others.
