Common pool resources

Common pool resources (CPRs) are goods or services that have the characteristics of non-excludability and rivalry in consumption, such as pastures (grazing land) or fish stocks. The over-exploitation of CPRs (or common access resources – CARs) can lead to the tragedy of the commons, such as overfishing and deforestation.
