Conditional IMF lending

IMF lending is usually conditional, meaning the borrowing country may be required to implement policy reforms such as reducing budget deficits, tightening monetary policy, changing exchange rate policy, improving tax collection, cutting subsidies or reforming state-owned enterprises.
