We’ve just given the IBonomics Real-World Examples page a major upgrade.
The old version was useful for quickly finding examples, but we wanted to make it much easier to actually understand how each case connects to economics and how you could use it in an IB Economics answer.
So we rebuilt it.

Each case study gives you clearer context on what happened, the economic concepts involved, and why the example is useful.
📚 It’s easier to find relevant examples.
The new page makes it simpler to browse examples by topic and find cases that match what you’re currently studying.
📝 The focus is on examples you can actually use.
Rather than just listing events, we want each case study to help you understand the economics behind it and give you something concrete to bring into essays, discussions and revision.
We also want the page to become more community-driven.
If you’ve come across a real-world example that you think would be useful for IB Economics, send it to us. We’ll take a look and, if it fits, turn it into a full case study and add it to the page.
The goal is simple: build a library of real economics happening in the real world that connect the theory of economics to reality 🫎
